For once in our lives, we began at home. Home having been to this point Wales: land where the minstrels are honoured and free. Druids, bards, poets, Gavin & Stacey, among the world’s best rugby players, singers and drinkers, among the world’s worst footie players and dress sense in large towns on a Saturday night … and without doubt some of the most underrated and unexploited scenery on the planet. Great for sheep.

One Set of Keys
August 13th, 2010It’s frightening just how many keys you accumulate when you own a house. Take a quick look around; empty your pockets. House, back door, sheds, car, work, electricity meters, bike, windows, safe, mum’s, next door neighbours’, the set you somehow still have from a house you owned 5 years ago, the one which opens you have no idea what. But better not throw away just in case.

And So it Begins Afresh …

In January, no one – including us – would have believed that we would actually get off our bottoms and get out there into the world, to travel again as a family of five. But without sounding too smug, it looks like we are almost there. We have, since January
