We may be nearing the end of a Bulgarian winter, so it’s time to reflect. All too soon the forgiving, concealing blanket of snow may be gone, though as I write thick flakes have been falling silently for over twelve hours. Adding to the several foot of snow we already have, covering the mud, the cracks, the wonky roofs and the poor excuse for a garden. It’s another day where we don’t dare dig the car out of the garage and don’t even attempt to school runs. And still I love it. Read more
