Almost home

Almost home

Vive La France! All this year we’ve said that we would NOT end the trip at Disneyland. But, true to form, ca change. We felt the kids deserved a day of unbridled overexcitement and so, mere days before we leave ‘forrun’ parts, we spent almost 19 hours doing the theme park. Jenna has blogged so eloquently about it that little more needs to be said … suffice it to say, we have had enough of queuing to last a lifetime, but the kids were in heaven. We finally got home with three enfants terribles at 1.30am having mangled every ounce of our money’s worth out of old Walt. Watching the kids’ faces as the gazed at parades, characters and fireworks – let alone getting completely into the spirit of each and every ride – made it all worthwhile.

And so we sit vegetating on our last day in Paris. Two more nights on French soil before we return to the UK and one of those in Calais, which doesn’t count. But, we aren’t ending the trip. We plan to visit London and show them some more world-class sights and works of art, and then move to Stonehenge (yes! MORE UNESCO!) and the other ancient bits of Wiltshire and Oxfordshire. And in many more ways, we aren’t ending the trip. We are absolutely determined to develop what we’ve done this year in terms of how we live our lives, how we teach our kids, how we do business. We can’t just treat it as a long holiday that’s ended, and now normality resumes. That would be such a waste of time and (it must be said) a great deal of money. The adventure must continue, armed with all we have learnt, and facing all the new challenges before us.
